Ship building! - 11th June, 2019

Today we worked with clay - some of us for the first time.

Jac had rolled out some flat pieces of clay for us and then showed us how to put these together in order to make the base for our ships we shall be displaying in Whitehaven Library.

It was rather difficult and not all of us made a ship but Jac had brought little clay stamps and we were able to use these to make patterns and repeat patterns in the clay.  There were alphabet stamps too!

Once the clay has totally dried, Jac told us that she will put them into a kiln following which we shall be able to paint these.

We shall be painting fabric for the sails too.
